New reports from EMATER for Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil have been added to the Reports topic.

You can now set specific unit system customizations to each widget on your dashboard.  You can choose between Metric and US Customary systems (and post widgets of different types on the same dashboard) and also choose the scaling method for each type of attribute.  You can choose whether area values are displayed in hectares (metric),  1000 hectares, 1000000 hectares, and similarly for quantity and US customary type values.  Yield values can be displayed in thousandths (specifically to convert Yield values from tonnes per hectares to kilograms per hectare).

We’ve added a new mapping help feature in relevant Topics so you can see the spatial coverage of statistics by data source.  For example, if you’re not sure if a data source only covers one country, or multiple countries, you can look  at the map to determine coverage.  To utilize this, click the little globe icon at the top of the Source filter box which will pop open a dialog box where the map will appear.

Two maps have been added to the Crop Calendar widget – one that shows the stages of the crop for a given date, and another that shows the date distribution for a given crop stage.

A new topic has been added, titled Crop Calendar, which can display a Gantt-like chart show the time periods that various crop stages typically (or for a given year) occur.  Typical stages displayed are Planted and Harvested, though some sources (such as USDA NASS) also include additional crop stages.

For the Annual Crop Stats topic, we have reorganized the available ‘modes’ of year — users can now choose from the default ‘Harvest Year’, or ‘Plant/Harvest’ split year, USDA ‘Market’ year and USDA ‘Market’ Split year.

Simply choose your desired mode from the dropdown.  Note that all data has a Harvest year, but we have not yet defined Market year and Plant year offsets for all locations and crops, but more are being added.

Australia harvest reports from Viterra, CBH Group, and GrainCorp have been added to the reports topic.

Pivot widgets are now available and default on all the stat topics.  The pivot widget supports all the types of widget available for that topic (tables, charts, maps, etc) and provide the additional options for pivoting the data on some attributes and/or create custom variables using formulas.

The pivot widget is now available on the Freight Topic.  Click the ‘Pivot’ checkbox on the ‘Widget types and options’ box to see it.

On the Yield Forecast Analysis widget, a new toggle mode has been added to the top right where you can switch between the default table view to the chart and map view which will show the combined results for each location no matter which model is selected for area or yield for each subnational location.
